Sedona Proposal
This proposal was breathtaking. Connor reached out to me a month prior to plan this surprise proposal for Bridget. He told me they would be going on a hike in Sedona right before Christmas so they could tell their families over the holidays. We decided to go to Bell Rock since it was such a beautiful landscape. Now this is where things got interesting...

I drove up from Scottsdale that morning and had done my research. I wanted to get there an hour early to set up and scope out the location. I don't know if any of you have been hiking at such a sought-after location but you need a parking permit. Luckily the gas station sold it for only $5 so I picked it up and then had to circle the parking lot for around 15 minutes before finding a spot. I then hiked around 10 minutes in and found the perfect spot. I set everything up and updated Connor on where to park and where to meet me.

Unfortunately, the first parking lot I parked in was packed and he didn't want to look suspicious waiting around that parking lot so they went to the second lot which was on the complete opposite side of the mountain. I sent him my location and it was around a 30 minute hike. He couldn't convince her to go over there without being suspicious so I hiked over to where they were.

Let's just say...I don't hike. I had a 20-pound backpack on while holding my tripod in one arm. Once I arrived, I now had to try and locate Connor even though I only had seen Instagram photos of him. I finally found them and they were half-way up the mountain. I set up my one camera to film and made my way up.

When it comes to a surprise proposal, I like to ask the couple if I can test my camera settings on them before the actual couple arrives. This is a good way of being up close without making it obvious. It went as planned and she was so surprised! Around 10 minutes into the photoshoot it started to rain. This created such a beautiful moment for the two of them. Around 15 minutes later it started pouring rain, but even in those 30 minutes I truly captured a magical moment. I'm looking forward to photographing their wedding in June!

I hope you enjoy the photos and hopefully get some inspiration for your own engagement shoots!
